Tenants have found unique methods of removing bugs.  A Seattle man recently used spray paint and a cigarette lighter to kill a spider in an Arbor Heights rental and caused approximately $60,000 in damage.  A San Diego tenant blew up his rental home by setting off 19 bug bombs in a 470 square foot home.  That repair job cost about $150,000.

Sometimes it is smarter for the landlord to effect repairs, even if not required in the lease or law!
